Good morning, everybody. We'll get the chat started shortly. We're looking forward to your ideas and questions for JiaoJiao and Lindsey. They're getting set up now.
Feel free to start submitting any questions or tips (including your photos).
Hi everyone! Let's talk fashion! If you follow me on Facebook, you know I LOVE showing off great deals that I've found. What are some of the best deals you've seen?
I love to go to Arizona Trading Company in westport and lawrence
You can also try Plato's closet or Ditto
They both have several locations around KC
My absolute favorite website is 6pm.com They have amazing deals on shoes
Sorry for interrupting your conversation, Lindsey and guests! Oops! This live chat thing is very new to me. :)
ASOS is a website I frequent. They have great clothing and their sale section is always huge! Great selection
I can't help but weigh in, KCfashion, but I'm a fan of Zappos for shoes.
Hi guest1613: From left to right: Dress Barn $40... Tahari from TJMaxx.com for $49 and Ellen Tracy from TJMaxx.com for $49!
To be honest, I have not. But I totally understand not having the time to go in stores and browse.
honestly, I am a big thrifter! They really do have a great selection of kids clothing for super cheap.
If you get the time, you should scan the kids clothing section if you're on a budget.
I literally look at every magazine I can get my hands on.
Has anyone here tried sites like Gilt or HauteLook? I have friends who swear by them. But the "members-only" part always makes me hesitate...
I do spend lots of time scanning pinterest. It can be very addictive! I wouldn't say I get my inspiration from my specific place. I always look at what everyone is wearing wherever I go. I'm always on clothing alert. ha!
gilt is great. the members only part should sometimes make you wary, but there are no hidden contracts with giltgroupe
Always read the fine print to make sure they aren't charging you a monthly fee
I'm loving the ASOS site that Lindsey recommended! So many clothes!!!
Hautelook is contract free as well.
Oooh Staple pieces. It depends on what you are looking for, but I LOVE thrifting for accessories...scarves, gloves, hats, jewelry...
People sometimes forget that they have great accessories.
Coats and blazers are always good to look for as well. They are normally expensive pieces that you can find MUCH cheaper at thrift stores.
I will second the coats and blazers. I was at Red Racks a few weeks ago and saw some really cute fall jackets. A great leather moto jacket for $19. Unfortunately, it was one size too big on me. But still...it was really trendy and affordable!
Thrift stores are also great for finding fun and different patterns no one else will have.
I have found my favorite printed button downs that I wear under blazers thrifting.
Denim is always good to get thrifting as well. A lot of times they have great denim jackets and vests which are very in this season and can be very expensive if not bought second hand.
So...since I'm sick, I'll throw this out there. Anyone else shop when they're not feeling well? There is something so therapeutic about scrolling through my favorite clothing sites. Instantly makes me feel better. That being said...I have two blouses arriving in the mail today. Haha!
I will second that. It's extremely therapeutic...for you...not the bank account. But that's ok1
Sometimes when I have a lot on my mind, I will pick a store and thumb through the racks to clear my mind. It can be very soothing. Even if it's just for ideas, not to buy.
Actually, KCGal...yes! I got this dress from Ann Taylor at the end of season last winter. It was already on sale...about 30% off full price. Then, there was a one-day sale for an extra 50% off sale items. So I got it for something like $40. It's very warm, so perfect for a cold day like today.
OK, everybody, last call for questions.
Anyone...anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
Thank you everybody for your questions. We'd like to do more of these in the future, so if you have any feedback, feel free to email me at email@example.com. I'd like to thank JiaoJiao and Lindsey for taking time out to answer your questions. Have a great day.
